CS-102 Butyl Rubber Sealant

used for the primary seal inside
the lap joints of the box culverts.

CS-75 Water-Based Primer used to aid installation of the CS-102 joint sealant and CS-212 external joint wrap. The importance of the using the primer with the external joint wrap is to not only promote adhesion during installation process but also to block the porosity of the concrete in order to keep moisture from getting behind the external joint wrap which could cause loss of adhesion of the wrap.

CS-212 External Joint Wrap
used as additional precaution to prevent possible soil and sediment erosion in the joint area

Applicable ASTM Standards:

ASTM C-887 Standard Specification for External Sealing Bands for Concrete Pipe, Manholes, and Precast Box Sections, Type III, Chemically-Bonded Adhesive Butyl Bands

ASTM C-990 Standard Specification for Joints for
Concrete Pipe, Manholes, and Precast Box Sections Using Preformed Flexible Joint Sealants

ASTM C-798 Replaced in November 2000 by ASTM C-1433 Standard Specification for Precast Reinforced Concrete Box Sections for Culverts,
Storm Drains, and Sewers
